Dear Yuletide Author!

flipflop_divaHi dearest author! I have not had time to completely finish this, but I have included a (copy-paste version) of my likes and dislikes. I will update for Yuletide within the next day or two!
Things I like a lot:
• All the ladies
• Badass ladies who actually have a vulnerable side/aren’t always as perfect or infallible as they seem
• Angst, hurt/comfort, flangst. Seriously, angst is my crack. I don’t believe there can ever be too much. And I am a total sucker for favorite character whump. You always hurt the ones you love, right? :) So feel free to make it sad, make it hurt, make them hurt. I love all of it. (And a nice portion of comfort to go with it is always welcome, although definitely not required)
• Dark!fic, including non-con, dub-con, torture, kidnappings, etc. (As a side note, I don’t really like ‘the hero turns dark for no reason’ fic, although if there is a good reason for a dark!hero, that is fine. Mostly, though, I prefer the dark happenings to come from an actual villain. I especially love when said dark happenings lead to the angst and h/c mentioned above, as well as things like self-doubt, new awareness, etc. Basically, I love dark!fic, but I love it more when it leads to new insight/experience/cuddle sessions for my faves).
• Character studies
• Missing moments from canon, or canon divergent AUs
• Happy endings, ambivalent endings, endings that make you cry. All of the above
• People having fun
• People working together or having fun together or bonding with each other or just getting to know and appreciate each other
• Banter or snark, especially when it’s in character
• Relationships that start out rocky or unrequited or as friends and grow into something more. People coming together unexpectedly.
• Relationships that aren’t always easy and have ups and downs.
• Smut. You totally don’t need to include this, but if you want to, I won’t complain! I like when there’s a little plot with the porn, but as I said, I’m not that picky. (I’m also totally good with kinky fic just long as you avoid watersports. Some kinks I do particularly enjoy: being held down, tied up, shower sex, d/s (I prefer the female to be the sub and aftercare afterward is always A+), sleepy sex, rushed sex, one partner trying to arouse the other in public.)
Things I don’t like:
• Over-the-top fluff. Sweet is great, cute is great, fics that make you go ‘awwww’ are love, but I don’t really love ones where everything is pink unicorns and rainbow glitter. Life isn’t like that, and really, neither are any of my fandoms, so I prefer my fics to be slightly more real.
• Mundane AUs, like high school or coffee shop AUs. Canon-divergent is awesome, and I love apocalypse, dystopian and soul-mate AUs, and I love fusion-type AUs, too, but I don't really want to read about people as normal high schoolers or waitresses or something (if that makes sense).
• mpreg. I just can’t get into that. I prefer my females are the only ones pregnant (though most of the time I prefer no one is)
Other general notes:
For all my requests, feel free to include other characters from that particular fandom in background/side roles if you’d like, just as long as the character/couple in question is front and center. But there is no character I hate enough that I wouldn’t want them to appear, so if you want to have side characters weighing in or helping the main character/pairing out, then feel free!
